Day
1. Monday
Leaving
Hotel Tropical Manaus at 14:30h. Presentation of
the tour. Starting navigate to “Encontro das Águas”
(meeting of waters), the place where the rivers
of Rio Negro & Rio
Solimões meet and form the river Rio Amazonas.
There occurs an interesting phenomenon, you can
see the two rivers go parallel in the same river
bed with different colored waters, and just after
18km the waters mix up with each other. The tour
continues to the region of Xiborena & Careiro
islands, until Curari where the boat makes a stop.
Small trip by canoes to observe the life in the
low and flat land alongside a watercourse. After
the return to the boat, you may enjoy the sunset
and observe the jungle’s nightlife, including alligator
spotting. At night navigation to the Lake Janauaçá
for stay overnight.
Day
2. Tuesday.
Early
morning and tour by canoe to see the sunrise, and
observe birds at the Lake Janauaçá. There are good
possibilities to watch Hoatzins, besides Herons
and aquatic birds. Return to the boat for breakfast.
After that, a visit to the riverside people, who
lives of manioc roots, fishing, variety of fruits,
chestnuts, wood among others. Trek in the jungle
accompanied by guide. Return to the boat for lunch
and navigation with return to the river Rio Solimões.
In the afternoon, after a brief lunch rest, go for
fishing piranhas (with possibilities to catch other
fish as well), return in the evening. Enjoy the
boat and have dinner. At night a trip by canoe to
observe night animals like: Negroes, snakes, rats,
frogs, and alligators. Return to the boat, navigation
going down the river Rio Solimões to the lake of
Januarí, next to “Encontro das aguas”.
Day
3. Wednesday.
Wake
up at dawn and by canoe observe birds in the ecological
park of Janauarí or in the surrounding small creeks.

depending on water levels, local/seasonal circumstances).
Then
navigate to the river Rio Pagodão (tributary
stream to river Rio Negro). A trip by canoe to see
the sunset and the first observation of the nature.
Return at night to the boat for dinner, and navigate
to on river Rio Negro and stay overnight.
Day
4. Thursday.
Breakfast.
Leave
the boat for a trek in the jungle, accompanied by
a guide. Observation of the flora and visit of one
family of “caboclos” (civilized Brazilian Indians),
to know the preparations of manioc flour (basic
food among the locals), habitats, plantations, conditions
of life in the interior, etc. Return to the boat
for lunch and navigation through the archipelago
of Anavilhanas, (the second largest floating archipelago
in the world), with destination of the small town
of Novo Airão, on the margin of river Rio Negro.
A stop in the town to see: the market, one shipyard,
old houses, etc. Return to the boat and start to
descend the river Rio Negro. Dinner and later a
night trip to observe the typical nightlife at river
Negro and its fauna. Overnight.
Day
5. Friday.
Breakfast
and trip by canoes to observe the flora (rubber
trees, palm trees, regional fruits, etc) and fishing
piranha. Return to the boat for lunch and navigation
continue to descend the river Negro. In the afternoon,
a stop in the region of Paricatuba and visit on
old building, invaded of vegetation, or trip by
canoe on the lake of Jacaréubal (this depending
on water levels, local/seasonal circumstances).
Return to the boat for navigation, descending the
river Rio Negro to the lake of Janauarí, and overnight.
Day
6. Saturday.
Wake
up at dawn and by canoe observe birds in the ecological
park of Janauarí or in the surrounding small creeks.

to the boat for breakfast and navegation to “Encontro
das Águas”, and on the river Rio Negro, to Hotel
Tropical, passing by the city of Manaus. There you
have the opportunity to see Palafitas (Type of dwelling
used on the banks of the Amazon, which give effective
shelter to the natives during the rainy season),
the Municipal Market, custom house, and the floating
port. The cruiser ends about 11:30 at the Pier at
Hotel Tropical.
