east of Manaus City, the capital of the State of Amazonas,
in northern of Brazil. The Lodge encompasses 1200
hectares or 3200 acres of green area and is situated
on solid ground. The place is totally surrounded by
primary forest interlaced by small creeks connected
to the Urubu River, a tributary of the Amazon River.
Because of the acidity of the region’s water
inhibits the proliferation of viruses and mosquitoes.
Staying at Amazonat Jungle Lodge can be considered
as mosquito free! Amazonat Jungle Lodge can be reached
by river and by road. The boat trip generally takes
6 hours followed with an additional 30 minutes by
bus. The direct bus trip between Manaus and the lodge
takes less than 2 hours.
Amazonat
offers a number of attractions that allow first-time
visitors and new arrivals to adjust in a relaxed way
to the jungle environment. You may wish to spend your
first day at the resort unwinding at the swimming
pool or the lake beach, walking through the orchid
park, visiting Bertha's pond, bird-watching, exercising
at our fitness stations, or getting a relaxing massage.
A large outside deck with hammocks brings the guest
into safe and intimate contact with the nearby jungle.
The pure drinking water available from the faucet
comes from the hotel’s own mineral source. The
construction style is typical of the region: lots
of wood and no glass doors or windows; instead we
use screens, in order to enhance contact with nature.
The
restaurant is built in the indigenous style: completely
open with a palm leaf roof. It is here that guests
meet each other during meals and where they can enjoy
a game of billiards or watch one of many videos about
the region. The kitchen offers local dishes, international
cuisine and vegetarian specialties. You may also take
the opportunity to purchase some Amazonian handicrafts,
medicinal plants and extracts at the hotel’s
shop. There is also a library with books in several
languages with all the information about the Amazon.
