In
the heart of Brazil’s Amazon Jungle, an exciting
place waits for you “The Amazon Lodge”.
Inaugurated in 1982, it was the first floating lodge
in the Amazon, being rebuilt recently in order to
provide the guests more comfort and pleasure. The
Amazon Lodge is located about 4 hours away (80 km
or 50 miles ) from Manaus, Southbank of the Amazon
River,on the Parana do Mamori River system, upstream
Rio Juma.
The
Amazon Lodge consists of a central "open air"
floating lodge, where the “central service
area” is with 3 showers and 3 toilets for
common use. There are 6 more floating lodges for
the accommodations – providing a total of
18 guest rooms, all protected with mosquito nets.
The rooms are simple with two single beds and have
no private bathroom, only a washbasin and a fan.
Reception and Bar - with comfortable sofas, hammocks
and chairs, perfect for relaxing before and after
excursions, or a chat with new friends accompanied
by a local drink. The “Roof Top” Restaurant
has a great atmosphere for experimenting delicious
local cuisine – built in a typical architecture
of rustic style, and all environments are protected
by mosquito nets. Recreation Area has a large sun
deck, where you can swim, sun bath, read and relax
with nature. At the lodge there is a generator with
110V energy available for a few hours at night only.
Alternative sources of energy are also being used.
No hot water is available (water temperature is
usually 26-32 degrees Celsius, all the year around).
The lights for the rooms, as well as the recreation
area are supplied by alternative 12 V batteries.
All excursions leave by wooden canoe from the main
deck. Many of the excursions are done in paddle
canoes for 2 guests only. The transfer from Manaus
to the lodge or vice-versa is divided in the following
parts:
Daily
departures with a total transfer time around 4 hours.
1) Manaus (AIRPORT OR HOTEL) - Ceasa port: 1/2-hour
