Fascinating
and mysterious, the meeting of the water refers to
the joining of two great rivers of different colors:
the black inky water of the river Rio Negro and the
red-brown, muddy water of the river Solimões,
and they flow side by side for 18 kilometers without
mixing and finally forms the Amazon River. Differences
in density, temperature and velocity of the two rivers
cause this spectacle.
Our tour lasts approximately for 6-hours and start
by pick-up at your hotel about 08:30, we depart from
the floating docks, the port in downtown. Following
downstream on the River of Rio Negro’s left
margin, we will pass by colorful boats, Municipal
Market and Industrial Districts. The downstream cruise
takes us directly to the Meeting of the Waters. After
that, we will visit the January Lake, were we will
make a trip in a motorized canoe trough Igarapés
(flooded lands) and Igapós, observe Water Lilies
and Caboclo’s (native) houses. Lunch (regional
food) will be served on a floating restaurant. Regional
