Parintins is located in the Amazon Rain Forest, at the edge of the Amazon River, about 300km by air and about 420km by boat from Manaus City. To go there by air takes about 1hour and Packtours provide sales of air tickets on this distance. To go by a regular regional river boat it takes about 18 hours (Manaus/Parintins) and about 24hours (Parintins/Manaus), as the cruise has to go against the current Amazon River on the way back to Manaus, it takes longer time. NOTE: To travel with regional river boats, we do normally not recommend to common tourists, but upon request we can arrange these bookings as well. It exists also faster river boats that may take about 8 hours (Manaus/Parintins) and about 10hours (Parintins/Manaus). NOTE: Packtours book/sell also “fast river boat” tickets together with hotel bookings in Parintins and the departures use to be at 07:00am from Manaus on Wednesdays & Saturdays and from Parintins on Thursdays and Sundays.
