Costa do Sauípe is located 76km northeast of Salvador's International Airport. It is Latin America's biggest, planned resort and tourist complex. It was inaugurated year 2000, and there are five modern 5-star hotels with international standard, and six thematic "Pousadas" (Guest Houses), with influences from local culture and architecture. Besides all sophisticated hotels, there are a great infrastructure for sports and leisure in a big green area. There are swimming pools, 18-hole golf course with club house, 15 tennis courts, soccer field, 02 squash courts, 04 paddle courts, 04 multi sports grounds, nautical center, horse stable providing horse riding, ecological tours, and Kids Club. In the complex's village "Vila Nova da Praia", there are all "Pousadas", where the movement normally is at night. There you can stroll around and visit small bars, restaurants, and shops with clothes, handicrafts, souvenirs etc. In the village's middle, there is one square where it can be shows with space for 2.000 spectators.
