The
last beach on the north coast of Bahia has a big river
with one of the biggest mangrove reserves in the world
where a lot of birds, fishes and crustaceous have
their habitat. It also has an amazing beach with a
large extension of sand, dunes with unforgettable
landscapes and a charming village with restaurants
and inns. It’s a real paradise!
The tour leaves Praia do Forte early in the morning
and go to the “Tieta’s”* land, arriving
in Pontal where we will take a speed boat across the
river and observe the mangroves. At Mangue Seco buggies
will pick us up for a panoramic and ecological tour
of the dunes. Later we will go to the beach where
we will stay for two hours tanning the body or drinking
and eating at the beach bars. After that we will take
the buggies again to return to the village where a
delicious lunch will be served. After lunch we will
walk to the Tieta’s house to taste some regional
candies in order to prepare ourselves to the return
to Praia do Forte.
* Tieta is a very famous character from a Jorge Amado’s
book. Mangue Seco was the place where they had filmed
the soap opera and the movie “Tieta”.
