Inaugurated in 2000, the Txai Resort is classified as a tourist Superior Resort. It’s located in Itacaré, 50 minutes from Ilhéus airport (48 km north of Ilhéus), in Itacarezinho beach. According to Conservation International, in this region the Atlantic rain forest has an extremely high number of plants, reptiles, birds and small mammals’ species, making it one of the most diverse and at the same time most threatened biosphere on the planet. Its infra structure consists on a restaurant, built in the lines of traditional Bahian architecture, surrounded by coconut and dendê palms, with stunning view of the sea. It also has a living room, swimming pool with 25 meter-long, children’s pool, TV room where you can watch movies, DVDs and cable TV on a 60-inch screen, internet access on the reading room and 2 tennis courts.

To accommodate the guests, the Txai Resort has bungalows built individually on stilts and surrounded by wooden decks with details in palm-thatch, spread around the coconut groves. The interiors of the bungalows mix the rustic simplicity of Bahia with maximum comfort. Decorated in earth tones, they are furnished with a king-size bed with mosquito net, desk, sofas for reading, refrigerator bar, safe, air conditioning, outside shower and an open-air bed for massage and relaxation. Some of the bungalows are also equipped with an outside whirlpool bath. The triple bungalow can accommodate up to 8 guests, in three suites, the largest of which is a loft with mezzanine, able to accommodate 4. The Txai also has suites built facing the ocean, with the same comfort and style as the bungalows.
