Fortaleza
is the capital of the state Ceará, and it is the
most modern capital city in the Northeast and it
has over 2 million inhabitants. Fortaleza is the
Brazilian city that has the highest rate of imported
cars - around 30.000 BMWs, Audis, and Mercedes.
Along its seahorse there are new high buildings,
excellent hotels, shopping malls, and bars &
discos which are open until dawn, when it's time
to go to the beach. Just outside of the city, you
may enjoy the amusement park, a beach park similar
to Wet'n Wild, but more beautiful.
Fortaleza
has outstanding beaches which are crowded in the
summer when lots of tourists stroll on the boardwalks,
getting in and out from bars where one can buy anything
from beer to lobster. There are several amazing
beaches in the city's surroundings, where it is
better to bath too. Jericoacoara
320km from Fortaleza is the most fantastic beach
of the Northeast, and it is considered to be one
of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world and
the best in Brazil, if we believe in Washington
Post and the magazine Viagem. Other great beaches
are Cumbuco Beach, and
Morro Branco, 85km from Fortaleza - a twelve color
beach, Canoa Quebrada
beach, 156km from Fortaleza, was discovered by the
hippies during the 70's - until then, anybody had
reached its wonders, Lagoinha beach 124km from Fortaleza
- a 15km fine sand beach with different color, small
waterfalls and palm trees.
