Pousada Piuval is located in the north part of Pantanal, about 110km from Cuiabá. You take the road Transpantaneira from Cuiabá to Poconé, and just 10km (+3km) after Poconé you reach the guest house. It might take about 1,5 hour by car from the airport in Cuiabá. Piuval is a large traditional cattle ranch of 7.000 hectares of flooded lands. The place is situated near the bay of the River of Rio Berto Gomes, an area full of wild life. There are many mound-hills (islands of vegetation) that concentrate mammals especially during the wet season and where there are many nests of Hyacinth Macaws, Jabiru storks, among others. You access the surrounding by trekking, horse riding or even by canoes, depending on the season. This is the place for bird watching, alligator spotting, fishing, etc. You may visit the place especially between July and November, when there are lots of birds that make their immigration stopover. Between January and April is the top of the “wet season” with flooded lands and it can even be difficult to access some places, especially by car.

The place has good structure to receive guests, providing with a restaurant with TV, kiosk with an area with hammocks where you can relax, swimming pool, volleyball court, tours/activities in the area by tractor with card, trekking, horses or by boat. There are 14 guest rooms accommodating 2, 3 or 4 guests in each room. All rooms have private bathroom with hot water, air conditioning, ceiling fan, verandah and mosquito net at the window.
