To go to the beach of Lopes Mendes from the village of Abraao, might take first 1 hour by boat and then about 30min trek, passing through the rain forest and a mountain, but it is worth all "hard work". An enormous desert beach is waiting for you, with white fine sand and turquoise water. The waves are great for surfing, even if they can be a bit violent winter time. At the far end of the beach is a nice waterfall, where you can take a shower. Look for a man that sell delicious doughnuts filled with vanilla or chocolate cream.
