Paraty was described by some Portuguese Colonizer during 16th century as a “Valhacouto” which means a hiding place for pirates. From there this guest house got its name, Pousada Valhacouto. It is situated just outside of the historic center of Paraty, but still close with a walking distance to the center (one block or +/- 100m). It is a charming small place with a swimming pool with a bar and a breakfast restaurant. There are three types of accommodations: Luxo Room, Suite Colonial and Suite Super. All rooms have air conditioning, TV and a mini-fridge. The suites are more spacious and have also telephone, and the Super Suite has also Jacuzzi.
