Hotel Portobello is located on the “Green Coast”, about 100km south of Rio de Janeiro and 400km from Sao Paulo. It was inaugurated in 1987 and is classified as a four star beach hotel. The hotel is constructed in a rustic Polynesian style and offer all necessary comfort and charm. It is situated between the blue Atlantic Ocean and the green mountains, covered by rain forest.

There is a great infra-structure of leisure; a farm with domestic animals, a safari park with more exotic animals (zebras, etc.), surrounded by rainforest, waterfalls etc which invites for Eco Tourism (trekking & horse riding), one heated swimming pool, humid & dry saunas, massage service, 4 tennis courts, aquatic sports (kayak, jet ski, banana boat, water ski, laser sailor), fitness center, games room, monitored activities for infants, children and adults.

The hotel works with full board and lodging and are three restaurants, one beach bar, lobby bar, Pizzeria/Crêpes, ice-cream shop, souvenir & magazine shop, hair dresser, baby-sitter service, laundry service, medical center, Internet access, on-site airfield for helicopters & small aircrafts, and a marina. There are also possibilities for conventions, with one room fro 270 guests, one for 180 guests and one for 80 guests. And of course there is a supporting business center too, with video, flip-chart, TV and audiovisual equipment, etc.

There are 144 accommodations in four categories: Standard Room (second & third floor with balcony), Beach Room (ground floor with verandah and direct beach access), Suite (second & third floor with balcony and has one queen sized bed, one sofa bed & antechamber with a sofa) and Suite Beach (ground floor with verandah and direct beach access and has one king sized bed & antechamber with sofa beds). All guest rooms have sea veiw, radio & cable TV, air conditioning, mini-bar, safety box, telephone, and hair dryer.
