Every year there is a Gourmet Festival in the village on Ilhabela. On the menu there is seafood, mainly shrimps. The event occurs during the second part of August and the beginning of September. This year (2003) the festival starts on August 22 and ends on September 14. Every day there are some event and activities, but in the weekends it might be more animated with more people and attractive events. Many famous chef cookers are invited to participate and set up menus of “shrimp courses”, served in the village’s restaurants. Note: There are several promotions on shrimp dishes and besides all food, there are a lot to do on the island during these weeks – Enjoy your stay…!

At the place of “Espaço Casarão” there are chef cooks making presentations, lectures, seminars, etc (during weekdays) for the public, about gastronomy related subjects, it is like a workshop of gastronomy.
