The Maison Joly Hotel, is considered to be one of the best hotels in Ilhabela, and is located on Cantagalo's Hill, 80 meters above the sea level, and 300 meters from the center of the island's village. From the hill there is beautiful panorama view of the island's surroundings and its isolated location provides also with privacy for the hotel & restaurant customers. The excellent continental breakfast is served at the guest room's veranda, in the restaurant or patio (most of the time accompanied by birdsong), from eight in the morning to midnight. The restaurant has got several nominations to be a good restaurant with a team of trained staff, resulting in quality and refinement. The kitchen with Mediterranean inspiration, but with its own features, offers daily menu with special delicacies and beautiful presentation of the dishes, which are served in the shade of candle lights during dinner and is the highest point of the magic atmosphere. There is also a great selection of wines stored in an acclimatized wine cellar.

There are many works of art, including paintings of acclaimed painters, sculptures and oriental rugs complement the inner ambience. There is also a swimming pool and a piano bar with soft music. All these "ingredients" make Maison Joly known as a sophisticated place on the north shore of São Paulo State. The small hotel has through the years received several celebrities, like the Queen Silvia of Sweden, Ron Wood and Bob Keys from the Rolling Stones, etc.There are only 10 guest rooms, all of them facing towards the sea. Each room is unique: there might be a piano, or a fireplace; a lunette, or a snooker table. In some of them there are easels and painting material, aromatized bathrooms, verandas with coconut trees; in others there are Jacuzzis, hammocks or a private pool. In all of them there are embroidered percale white sheets, goose feather pillows and soft towels.
