After breakfast (09h00) we start the adventure, Off-Road, by Jeep to the beach of Praia dos Castelhanos. From the island’s village we go up in the mountains on a serpentine dirt road in the middle of the Atlantic Rainforest. There are several outlooks to enjoy the beautiful views and the highest point we reach, is about 930m above sea level. We arrive the beach about 10:30, which is considered as one of the island’s most beautiful, with an extension of 1.500m. Here are no hotels; only 15 native families live in the area. They have one small restaurant where you may eat and drink some during the day. Optional, but recommended, trekking from the beach to the waterfall of “Cachoeira do Gato”, with a height of 50m. The walk takes about 40min. In the afternoon we return to our hotel with arrival about 18:00.
