HOW
IS THE CARNIVAL IN SÃO PAULO?
The
carnival in São Paulo city has been showed more
and more respect through the years and is nowadays
considered to be one of most beautiful carnival
parade. If you intend to visit the city at carnival
time, you will discover a calm city, with out traffic
on the streets, but it is for sure very animated
at the “Samba Stadium” Anhembi - the place where
the carnival parade is.
The
carnival starts with some simpler “escolas de samba”
(escolas de samba = these aren’t schools, but large
samba clubs that have thousands of menbers and compete
in the annual carnival parade) they “warm up” the
spectators, before the best teams or escola de samba
enter the arena.. All groups have been training
months before the carnival to be in great fit to
win the competition of the best “escola de samba”
in 2006. This year it will be 17
escolas de samba divided in two parade nights. The
theme is free and each escola de samba has determinated
period of time to parade.
Besides
the parade, the night life in São Paulo is lively
in carnival time. Carnival parties and thematic
parties happen in
famous night clubs. If the idea is to run
away the Carnival to a calm place, then São Paulo
provides with other options as well, it is a world
capital of gastronomy with many different restaurants.

CARNIVAL TRANSFERS
To
visit the Carnival in the Sambodromo, Packtours provides
with transfers with English, Portuguese and Spanish
speaking guides accompanying and advising you on the
way, to and form the big party. The transfer is done
in an air conditioned vehicles. A transfer to the
Sambodromo from the hotels in the region of Jardins,
Moema, Itaim, Downtown, or other places in the city
