The
Cristalino Jungle Lodge is located on the right bank
of the Cristalino River inside the Cristalino State
Park – an area of 165.310 acre of pristine jungle.
The nearest town is Alta Floresta, 39 km away, a town
in the north part of the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil.
The access to the lodge is done via a well maintained
dirt road and the last distance by 30' min. boat ride.
The Cristalino Jungle Lodge is an internationally
recognized prime area for bird watching, but is also
famous for unforgettable adventure: hiking jungle
trails, overnight in the jungle, swimming in the pristine
Cristalino River, canoeing, jungle trekking and wildlife
viewing.
The jungle lodge is composed of a floating deck for
swimming, wildlife viewing, fishing and relaxing,
a common living room with sofas, chairs, and a small
natural history library, useful for slide shows and
meetings. A dining room/bar which offers regional
meals and appetizers, well stocked with various cold
drinks and juices. The Cristalino Jungle Lodge offers
typical Brazilian cuisine prepared in wood stove as
well as some indigenous specialties. Three plentiful
buffet meals are served each day:
Breakfast: natural juices, fruits,
coffee, milk, tea, homemade bread and cookies, cheese,
ham, butter, honey and jelly.
Lunch: Brazilian Cuisine; salads,
rice and beans, white meat (chicken or fish) and/or
red meat, cooked vegetables, pasta, homemade candies
and sweets, fruit, tea and coffee.
Dinner: On the thatch covered patio
by candle light there is served a Brazilian barbecue:
roasted vegetables, meat, chicken, salads, rice and
deserts. The Farewell dinner is piranha soup and Matrinchã
(Salmon of the Amazon), wrapped in banana leaf and
roasted over an open fire, in the indigenous fashion;
deserts, and coffee.
There are 2 bungalows with 4 rooms each, private bathrooms,
hot water showers (solar heating), ceiling fans and
screened windows. Two or three beds in each bungalow:
accommodate a total of 24 people. There are also 2
large dormitory buildings with five rooms in each
building, equipped with twin beds in the rooms. Note:
There are no private bathrooms in the rooms in the
dormitory buildings, the bathrooms are shared with
other guests, as well as the solar heated showers,
which they have inside each building.
